"By appointment" sounds exclusive. Like velvet ropes and dress codes and someone deciding whether you are worth their time. We get it. When people see those words on our site, some assume we are being precious about selling candles and incense.
We are not. By appointment shopping is one of the most practical decisions we have made, and it is entirely for your benefit.
What By Appointment Shopping Actually Means
You pick a time that works for you. You show up. The shop is yours. That is it.
No waiting for someone to finish with another customer. No hovering while a group of eight takes over the incense section. No rushing because you can feel the line building behind you.
You get the full space, the full attention, and as much time as you need to smell every candle, incense stick, and room spray on the shelf. If you want to compare two Dilo candles side by side for ten minutes, nobody is tapping their foot.
It also means we are actually prepared for you. The shop is set up, everything is in order, and we are ready to answer questions — not juggling three conversations at once while restocking shelves.
Compare That to the Alternative
Think about the last time you tried to shop for candles at a department store or a big home goods chain. The candle aisle is packed. Half the lids are already off. Your nose is overwhelmed within thirty seconds because someone three feet away just opened something aggressively floral.
You grab two or three based on the label, maybe sniff one quickly, and hope for the best. That is not shopping. That is guessing.

Or consider the boutique candle shops that are technically open to walk-ins but so small that three customers makes it feel crowded. You are trying to focus on what scent would work in your bedroom, but there is a conversation happening two feet away and the music is competing with your thoughts.
By appointment eliminates all of that.
It Is Respect for Your Time, Not a Barrier
Here is the thing most people realize after their first visit: appointment-based shopping is faster, not slower. You are not wandering or waiting. You tell us what you are looking for — a gift for someone, something for your living room, your first time trying Japanese incense — and we go straight to the right products.
Most visits take 15 to 30 minutes. Some people stay longer because they are having fun, not because they are stuck.

And because it is just you (or you and whoever you bring), there is no pressure. You can ask questions that might feel silly in a crowded store. You can take your time deciding between two room sprays. You can leave without buying anything and nobody makes it weird.
Booking Takes Thirty Seconds
We are open Monday through Friday 10am to 5pm, Saturday and Sunday noon to 5pm. Booking is online and takes about as long as ordering a coffee on an app. Pick a day, pick a time, done.
If you have been curious about the shop but the "by appointment" part made you hesitate, consider this your sign. It is low-key, low-pressure, and genuinely more enjoyable than the alternative.
Book a visit and see for yourself — we will have the candles ready.
